If you do not have too much time, but still you would like to visit something more than only Machu Picchu, we have created a special package for you. Connect Machu Picchu tour with famous spots in Chinchero, Maras, Moray, Salineras de Maras and Ollantaytambo. Spend 2 incredible days in Cusco in the most diverse way possible.
Day 1: CHINCHERO-MORAY-SALINERAS -OLLANTAYTAMBO
This full-day tour is definitely more than just a tour. It is awesome and unforgettable adventure, full of diverse activities during where no one can get bored! Today you will explore Inca archeological spots situated near Cusco, the unique salt mines, mystical agricultural terraces as well as you will have an interesting lesson of textiles and a meeting with local communities. You will be positively surprised at how many things there are to do and possible to explore in just one day as well as how rich in the experiences and knowledge about history, culture and traditions you will become.
We will start the tour around 6:30 am in Cusco. It will take around 45 minutes to reach our first spot – Chinchero town, where we will visit the Inca ruins and afterwards we will particpate in a very nteresting lesson about the local textiles of the region.
After Chinchero, you will explore the archaeological site of Moray, containing unusual Inca ruins, consisting of several enormous terraced circular depressions.
From Moray we continue to the next destination – Maras. We will take a short pause in this small town and learn about the production of the popular Andean beverage, chicha de jora (corn beer). We will also walk around, because the streets of Maras are more than lovely.
Salineras de Maras
After Maras we continue the tour towards the incredible salt ponds, Salineras de Maras, that are still in use and have been since the Inca times. We will go there on foot. It will be around 1 hour long easy and very relaxing trek with the view for the spectacular Cordillera Uubamba. In the salt mines you will have a chance to walk through more than 3000 salt ponds and learn about the production of salt.
After full day of different atractions, around 4 pm we will arrive to Ollantaytambo, where you will have possibility to explore another Incas ruins. The ruins in the shape of llama are impressive and incredible. So different from the one which you will see in other parts of Cusco region, that impossible to skip.
After short walk in the ruins and the walk through the most spectacular parts of the town, you will go directly by train to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time to rest. The next day will wait for you famous ruins of Machu Picchu.
Days 2: MACHU PICCHU
During this day you will have possibility to explore Machu Picchu from many diferent points. Inside the ruins there are many options available to you. You can hike one of the two small peaks, Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, or walk to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) and/or Inca bridge.
You will start the tour from Aguas Calientes where in the early morning you will take a bus bus to the entrance. In the ruins you will have around 2 hours guided tour. It will be a great lesson of history and culture of the Incan Empire connected with the very nice walking in beautiful scenery. After the the tour with our tour guide you will also have time for discovering this unique place on your own. You can stay in Machu Picchu until the maximum of 5 pm.
From Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes you will return on your own by bus, from where you will take a train to Ollantaytambo. In Ollantaytambo there will be waiting for you our bus, which will take you directly to Cusco where you will arrive around 22:30 pm.
Your tour “Chinchero, Moray, Salienas, Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu” will end in Plaza de Armas in Cusco.
