This adventurous Circuit is located 106 kilometers away from Huaraz at the altitude of 5240m. It is located in the South and on our way there we will get some insights about the formation of lagoons, glaciers, exotic plants like Puya Raymondi and water springs.
Our tour will start very early and we will go to the south side of Huaraz passing by small and typical villages of Recuay to 3400 meters, Ticapampa 3470 m., Catac 3640 m. and the small village of Pachacoto at 3700m. Once being in Pachacoto, we will leave the road and continue to the east side. Here we will see the beautiful landscapes that match the blue sky and the dark green hills. Later we will see the snowy peaks of the mountains and finally get to the first tourist place – the Lake Patococha, after which we will arrive to the National Park where we will find the gasified water of Pumapampa, a few kilometers from this point we will make a stop in a small and colorful lake called Pumapashimin that changes color by solar radiation. At the same time we will find ourselves near the great Bromeliadis called Puya Raimondi. The highest exponent of the high Andean flora in the world, that can reach 12 meters and have a life span of 100 years; We will follow the road up towards the Glacier Pastoruri (5000 m) and we will finally arrive and observe the Snowy Pastoruri (5240m). Here you can see the ice caves and ice candles that can be accessed after a short walk or horseback ride.
At the present time it is forbidden to ascend to the Pastoruri snowy peaks, we can only observe it closely. After enjoying the views we will return to Huaraz at approximately 21:00 p.m.
