Tour Itinerary

  • CUSCO - RAINBOW MOUNTAINS OF PALCCOYO

We have an early start, departing Cusco 5:30 am via private transport.
After a 3 hour journey where we will pass numerous alpacca’s, natives who live in the mountains and beautiful winding landscapes, we will arrive at the trailhead from which there will be a hike lasting about 1 hour.

This hike is accessible for all ages and hiking levels. We will be reaching altitudes of 5000 m above sea level. The view is well worth the height! You will be able to view 3 different colored mountains at the peak of the hike. You will also be guided to a sacred rock garden atop the highest point. Your guide will be a local native from the mountains and he will explain the reason for the different colors in the mountains as well as the history behind the sacred garden.

After returning to our transport (45 minute downhill walking) we will drive approx. 1 hour to view the Checacupe Inca Rope Bridge.

  • CHECACUPE INCA ROPE BRIDGE

The Checacupe Inca Rope Bridge is a suspension bridge built over a river constructed by the Inca Empire. These bridges were an important part of the Inca road system and are examples of Incan innovation in engineering. Bridges of this type were useful since the Inca people did not use wheeled transport – traffic was limited to pedestrians and livestock. They were frequently used by Chasqui (messengers of the era) delivering messages throughout the Inca Empire.

Here we will stop for lunch. Breakfast and dinner are not included.

  • WHITE WATER RAFTING

We will spend the afternoon white water rafting down the Chuquicahuana river. We will pass by class 3 to class 4 throughout the adventure. Your guide will point out the different mountains we are passing and you’ll get to see the views from a completely different perspective! This is a great way to adventure back to Cusco and cut the driving time in half!

  • RETURN TO CUSCO

We will then drive another 2 hours back to Cusco.

At around 8 pm we will arrive in Cusco, leaving you time to enjoy the city´s famous nightlife and food scene!

Similarly, we are able to provide accommodation exclusively in hostels and homestays, which will result in a decrease of the tour fee. Please advise us of any desired changes as soon as possible before booking.

Breakfasts are generally included in the accommodation. Unless otherwise specified in the tour itinerary, lunch and dinner are not included in the tour price.
