Through Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu

The Sacred Valley, also known as the Valley of Urubamba, is unique and very diverse. It offers not only breathtaking landscapes, but Peruvians believe it is full of positive energy. Here is where you find ruins from the Inca Empire, which are viewed as the most important and strategic in the entire region and also the country. You can spend many days discovering new entities in this part of the Cusco region. There are among others two important and very beautiful towns in the Sacred Valley especially worth to see and explore – Ollantaytambo and Pisac. But of course if you have more time, you can also visit many interesting villages as well as local communities.
Day 1: SACRED VALLEY (PISAC AND OLLANTAYTAMBO)
The Sacred Valley, also known as the Valley of Urubamba, is unique. It offers not only breathtaking landscapes, but Peruvians believe it is full of positive energy. Here is where you find ruins from the Inca Empire, which are viewed as the most important and strategic in the entire region and also the country.
The expedition will begin about 06:30 am, so you have the whole day to enjoy what will become your favourite Valley of the Incas.
First, we will visit the Inca ruins of Pisac, which is considered apart from Machu Picchu and Saqsaywaman, are one of the hidden delights not to be overlooked. At this stage of the day, we will take on some light trekking among the agricultural terraces and ruins which date back more than 500 years.
After visiting lovely town of Pisac, you will have possibility to explore also another Incas ruins in other art of Sacred Valley – in Ollantaytambo. The ruins in the shape of llama are impressive and incredible. So different from the one which you will see in Pisac, that impossible to skip. If there will be a time we will also visit local family producing chicha de jora, typical, Andean corn beer.
After short trekking in the ruins and the walk through the most spectacular parts of the town, you will go directly by train to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time to rest. The next day will wait for you famous ruins of Machu Picchu.
DAY 2: MACHU PICCHU
During this day you will have possibility to explore Machu Picchu from many diferent points. Inside the ruins there are many options available to you. You can hike one of the two small peaks, Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, or walk to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) and/or Inca bridge.
You will start the tour from Aguas Calientes where in the early morning you will take a bus bus to the entrance. In the ruins you will have around 2 hours guided tour. It will be a great lesson of history and culture of the Incan Empire connected with the very nice walking in beautiful scenery. After the the tour with our tour guide you will also have time for discovering this unique place on your own. You can stay in Machu Picchu until the maximum of 5 pm.
From Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes you will return on your own by bus, from where you will take a train to Ollantaytambo. In Ollantaytambo there will be waiting for you our bus, which will take you directly to Cusco where you will arrive around 22:30 pm.
