If you do not have too much time, but would still like to visit something more than Machu Picchu, we have created a special package for you. Combine a visit to Machu Picchu with the most beautiful parts of The Sacred Valley of the Incas and spend 2 incredible days exploring the Cusco region!

The Sacred Valley, also known as the Valley of Urubamba, is unique and very diverse. Not only does it offer breathtaking landscapes, but Peruvians believe it to be full of a particular, positive energy. Here you can find ruins from the Inca Empire, which are viewed as the most important and strategic in the entire country. You can spend many days discovering new wonders in this part of the Cusco region. Two of the most important and beautiful towns in the Sacred Valley – Ollantaytambo and Pisac – are especially worth visiting, but those with more time can go further afield to the many Andean villages and communities nestled in the valley.

Tour Itinerary

The expedition will begin at 06:30 am, giving us the whole day to explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

First, we will visit the Inca ruins of Pisac – considered to be one of the hidden gems of the Inca Empire, and not to be missed! We will take on some light trekking as we explore the agricultural terraces and ruins which date back more than 500 years.

After wandering Pisac´s centre, you will have the possibility to explore another important Inca site at Ollantaytambo. The ruins, built in the shape of a llama, are impressive and incredible, and very different from those you will have seen in Pisac! Time permitting, we will also visit a local family who produce ´chicha de jora´ – a typical, Andean corn beer.

From Ollantaytambo you will go directly by train to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time to rest before exploring the famous ruins of Machu Picchu early the next day!

During this day you will have possibility to explore Machu Picchu from many diferent points. Inside the ruins there are many options available to you. You can hike one of the two small peaks, Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, or walk to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) and/or Inca bridge.

You will start the tour from Aguas Calientes where, early in the morning, you will take a bus to the entrance of Machu Picchu. In the ruins you will have a guided tour lasting approximtely 2 hours, after which you will have time to explore and discover the ancient city independently. You are welcome to stay in Machu Picchu until 5 pm, after which you will make your own way back to Aguas Calientes by bus.

From Aguas Calientes, you will take a train to Ollantaytambo. In Ollantaytambo our private transport will be waiting to meet you and take you directly to Cusco where you will arrive around 22:30 pm.
