Colca is one of the biggest tourist destinations of Peru. It is located in the northeast of Arequipa in the Province of Caylloma, in the middle of two highest volcanoes Coropuna (6377m) and Ampato (6380m). Colca comes from the words Collaguas and Cabanas, two ethnic groups that lived along the Colca River.
Colca canyon is known as the second deepest canyon in our planet. This canyon is a wonderful area to see the rich cultural remains, immense varieties of flora and fauna, snow ranges, green valleys, old and colony town, mighty rivers, pre Inca terraces, friendly and meet the locals.
